34 Weeks Down...6 Weeks (or Less) to Go!

Brandon and I went to my 34 week appointment today. It was, for the most part, uneventful. Here are few tidbits from our appointment:

*Dr. Weaver looked at me seriously and said, "how big was your biggest baby?" Ummmm...7 lbs 11 oz." She said, "hmmmm." I responded with, "This one is going to be bigger, isn't it?" She said, "I believe so." Ugh!! Brandon asked how big the baby is right now...she thought around 4 1/2 lbs.

*The baby is still in breech position. Dr. Weaver said there is still plenty of time for him to make the turn. Cross your fingers.

*Dr. Weaver also showed Brandon how to determine the baby's head from it's other body parts and appendages. Interesting stuff. Here's how I have determined where the head has been...hard, round object digging into my rib = the inability to breathe!

*I'm suppose to lay off the salt...my feet were somewhat swollen. I obviously can't hide my stuffed sausage ankles anymore!

*I've gained WAY too much weight! I'd tell ya, but at this point, I'm quite embarrassed with myself!

Want A Rib-Splitting Laugh?...Check Out This Link

In the wee hours of the morning on Friday night, I couldn't sleep, so I was watching tv in our bedroom. I was catching up on some Oprah's that I had on TiVo. Justin Timberlake was one of Oprah's guests and did you know he's pretty darn funny? They played a clip of Timberlake on Saturday Night Live dancing in a mock Beyonce video...in none other than a leotard and high heel shoes. I was laughing so hard that I woke Brandon up.

Introducing...Micah Brooke

We took a road trip to Milwaukee today to meet...

My new niece: Micah Brooke born March 24th
I'm so glad I got to meet her and love on her. She's so stinkin' cute. I could just nibble on her cheeks all day long. She is probably the most laid back baby I've ever seen.

Jordyn was soooo good with her. This gives me hope, that in a month or so, she'll be a big help around here with our new little guy.

Of course, we couldn't leave without a picture of the cousins.

This picture cracks me up!

A Visit With Friends

My co-worker, Amy, and I have talked for quite some time about getting our 2 year olds together to play. After several months...we finally did it!! Dylan is 3 months older than Camden so it was fun to see them play together.

The boys were less than impressed with us that we put them in a chair and told them to smile. Since our photo session was going nowhere, I asked the boys to show me their belly buttons. Here ya have it!

Like I said, they were less than impressed with us.

Amy has a special place in her heart for Kye. Kye begged Amy to give him a nickname, since many of his classmates were given nicknames by his teacher. After much consideration, Amy came up with "Sugar Lump" ("Shula" for short). So there you have it, everyone calls Kye "Shula" at school. Kye, you get what you ask for!

What did I say, Amy and Kye have a loving relationship!

Even though we've worked together for only 8 months, we've become very close.

Me: No silly. What's baby's name?

Jordyn's New Do

Over the past few months, Jordyn has taken to hiding behind her hair. Half of the time, you couldn't even see her eyes. This past week, I made Jordyn get a haircut. She spent a little bit of time researching hair styles with my hip co-worker, Amy. What a difference a good trim, a little layering, & a little swoop of the bangs will do to a girl!

Spring Break Randomness

Spring break is into full swing. Can't say we've been up to much, but we have accomplished tons, if that makes sense.

Here's a bit of randomness of our spring break (so far):

*Brandon cleaned up outside...landscape, tore a metal shed down.

*Kye and Camden got sick...Kye more so. Camden got better but Kye didn't. Took Kye to the dr. yesterday and he had strep throat. A day of antibiotics and the dr. said he'll be good to go.

*Jordyn got a flashy new haircut. Pictures to come soon. (If you are reading this Grandpa Joe, could you send me the one we talked about?)

*I went to the dentist yesterday to get my 6 mo. cleaning. All was good with my teeth. A few little zings on my exposed root, though, almost sent me through the roof. Sharp, metal tool + exposed root = Ouch! I left there soaking wet (literally) from sweating so badly. If you are interested in reading more about why I despise the dentist, click HERE.

*We have been mad fools here getting the house ready for baby. It's either now or it will never get done.

*Lord help us, tonight we will be trying Camden out in his big boy bed...the bottom bunk! Now if we can potty train him too, life would be good.

*I discovered a new blog, courtesy of the Pioneer Woman. It's called "This is Reverb." Check it out.

32 Weeks & Feeling Like A Beached Whale

Okay, to my knowledge the only other picture I posted of myself on this website was my infamous Pogo Queen picture (and that was only because some of you readers out there doubted my pogo sticking abilities! Kye had the pogo sticks out yesterday and it was tempting people, tempting I tell ya! For the safety of the baby, I refrained, thank you very much!). Keep in mind this picture is only for reference...It was taken over a month ago by my wonderful co-worker, Amy. She says I'd be sad if I didn't have a belly picture...actually she really wanted me to show my bare belly, but that's too scary. You see, I have this belly button thing going on. It doesn't stick out and it never will. The only way I can describe it is that it has a hood. The top of my button overlaps the bottom half and it's gross!

Anyways...as of today, I'm much bigger than the picture above. When people ask when I am due and I say "May 10th" they usually respond with a shocking "Ohhhh" or "Really?" or "Are you sure there's only one in there?" Today I had a doctors appointment and I had to chuckle on the way out. My doctor said to me as she's measuring my big ole belly, "My you sure have popped out since the last time you've been here." I would have taken that as a compliment, however I think she keeps forgetting that she's said that to me the last 3 times I've been there!

So here's what I know at 32 weeks prego:

*I can't bend over unless I do this little ballerina curtsy thing.

*My ankles look like stuffed sausages at the end of the day.

*My latest cravings include strawberries and grapes.

*Brandon claimed there was an alien in me the other night. Hope he doesn't come out with 2 heads or 3 eyes!

*Shaving my legs may as well be an Olympic sport.

*Only 8 (or less!) weeks to go!

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
I had so much fun last week with Not Me Monday, I thought I'd do it again this week. Here it goes...
**It wasn't me who, yesterday, sat in the car while parked in our driveway and listened to the severe weather sounder...tornado warnings...and said "what the heck, I'm going to Bloomington anyway!" Even though I long to be a storm chaser, it wasn't me who secretly wished I would see a twister on the way.
**It wasn't me who, last week while shopping in Macy's at Woodfield mall allowed one of those makeup ladies to apply daring shades of PURPLE mascara to my eyelashes just because my feet were swollen and sore and I really just needed to sit down. It also wasn't me who encouraged her to apply other crazy makeup to my face because I really just needed a few more minutes to rest. It wasn't me who felt bad that I wasted her time and bought some concealor for dark under eye circles.

Red Velvet Cake Balls

This post goes out to my friend, Becky. Several years back, Becky, her husband, Brandon and I took a trip to St. Louis. On the way down there, we stopped at a gas station to get some munchies. Becky picked up a piece of red velvet cake packaged in saran wrap, and was kind enough to share it with me. It was a slice of heaven...probably the best cake in the whole wide world! So, as the years passed...Becky and I have sampled a many of different red velvet cakes, but nothing compares to that cake she picked up on that fateful night heading to St. Louis.

As you know from a few posts back, I am addicted to blogs. Here's my latest...check her out Bakerella. As I was snooping around her website, I came across a recipe for Red Velvet Cake Balls. Yum! They look super easy to make and look delicious. I think I'm going to try to make them soon! I promise I'll share.

It's a...

Boy!
Brandon and I had orignially set out with this pregnancy to be surprised with the sex of the baby. So what changed our minds? Aside from the convenience factor of knowing and being able to prepare, things around here have been somewhat stressful and we just felt that we needed to refocus on something much more positive.

Needless to say, I was quite shocked. For quite some time I have been convinced we were having a girl. When the sonogram lady said, "It's a boy," I about fell off the table. So the sonogram picture isn't the best quality, but there you go...the little guy's manhood. I had to settle on pics of his privates and feet today because he was being stubborn, even when given a little (or big!) nudge by the sonogram lady.

So here is what I know about this little boy:

*He has hair!! It wouldn't be right to be born with Italian genes and not have a headful of hair.

*He evidently had a cyst on his brain earlier in the pregnancy, but it is gone now. I guess it is common occurrence, but today was the first we had heard of it.

*He is in breech position, but still has plenty of time to make the turn.

*He wouldn't show his face today, so we got to see the back of his head, his spine, boy parts, feet, and stomach. I hope this is not an indication that this kid is stubborn!

*He weighs approx. 3 lb. 11 oz and at this rate, he will be an 8.5 lb. baby. Ugh...I better lay off the chocolate, mocha's and the bag of Dilly Bars that are in the freezer!

*He will be called Durham.

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I stumbled upon this blog a while back. I thought I'd give the Not Me Monday a try. Here it goes...

It wasn't me who scheduled my 30 week sonogram during the busiest week of the school year...ISAT week! I don't know who did it, but they need to be scolded.

It wasn't me who ate a whole Banana Cream Pie Blizzard last night (medium, by the way). I just woke up this morning and found the evidence in the garbage.

It's not me who is addicted to McDonald's Mocha's and the more whipped cream on top, the better. Darn it anyway!

It wasn't me who, yesterday, let Jordyn go to her 1st volleyball game that NOBODY from our family went to, even though I knew she was unable to play. She was the ONLY player who rode the bus home. Good gracious...who would do that to a child?

It hasn't been me who has refrained from making Kye a hair appointment to get a buzz cut. His last haircut was in November and he looks like a Chia Pet...somebody help! I can almost braid the stuff!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stay tuned for a big announcement from the Fenton's later this week!
