Flicks Worth Renting

Brandon and I rented a couple movies this past week that are worth seeing if you haven't already.
Juno: quirky, witty & hilarious
Here's a Quote: "That ain't no etch-a sketch. This is one doodle that can't be undid, home skillet."

Dan in Real Life: super funny & cute

Another quote: "Put it on my tab...what?...put it on my tab?"
Now run along and go rent these movies. I want to hear what you thought of them.

Pogo Queen

The picture really says it all...I know many of you have doubted my Pogo Sticking abilities...however, it's real people! Okay...so minus the part where I jumped in the mulch and landed in that grass you see behind me and the part where I went crashing into the garage and Brandon was afraid we were going to have to make a trip to the ER. So it took me a little while to warm up. But now I am ready for a Pogo challenge. We have 2! Anybody?...anybody?

All Shook Up

Who would have thought an earthquake would rip through Illinois? Yep...we felt it. At 4:30ish this morning something in our bedroom was making a horrendous noise. It was a picture frame on top of Brandon's dresser. I said "What in the world is going on?" Brandon jumped out of bed...looked outside to make sure it wasn't a tornado whipping through town. He stood there holding the picture frame and the TV (his dresser slants forward a bit and was afraid it'd knock the TV off! We take care of the important things in life, you see!) The bed was swaying back and forth. 'Bout made me motion sick. It lasted much longer than I thought an earthquake would...I think the news said 1 1/2 minutes.

Glad I didn't have to put this on my 101 Things to Do Before I Die List: Experience an Earthquake!

Passing Some Time

This picture cracks me up. We were at Mom & Dad's over Easter break and I brought a couple loads of laundry to do there. These 2 kiddos (Camden and our nephew) were intrigued by the washing machine. They stood there for quite some time just watching.

Ha! What Were We Thinking??

Today I am laughing...yesterday I was not. Actually I was feeling a bit disappointed. Brandon and I really thought we might be ready to build a house. Long story short...the opportunity fell into our laps about a week ago. We would have broken ground this summer and the construction would have taken place over the course of 2 years (yes...I said 2 years!! A vocational class at the high school builds houses and the process takes 2 years). We spent the weekend looking at house plans, had our lot picked out and then.........we went to the bank! Oh my! It costs a whole lot to build a house (even with free labor from the high school students and a tax break on the materials). There would have been no room for error in terms of sticking to our budget. So we aren't gamblers and decided it's not the right time for us.

So now that we know we'll be sticking around in our humble little house for another few years...we are excited to spruce it up a little bit more.
